On September 17, folks in Chatham-Kent will join thousands of others across Canada in The Grand Parade, a 2.5 km walk-a-thon in celebration and support of aging Canadians. Family Service Kent is hosting this super-fun, family-friendly fundraising walk to benefit the agency’s programs that focus on serving older adults.
The Community & Home Assistance Program (CHAP) provides safe, accessible, and affordable services in the community to enhance independence and quality of life. CHAP services include door-to-door transportation, home help services, and frozen meals. Funds will also benefit older adults who access the Community Counselling Program, which is a rapidly growing need in our community. Our fundraising goal is to raise $20,000 with the support of 20+ teams and 150+ walkers.
Register for The Grand Parade – Chatham-Kent! There is no registration fee to participate in The Grand Parade, but we encourage all participants to fundraise. As a goal, most walkers raise around $250, sometimes much more! When you go the extra mile and raise $150+ ( or $75+ if you’re a whippersnapper under 18), we’ll recognize your efforts with our oh-so stylish 2022 TGP t-shirt which you can pick-up on TGP Day. If you are one of the first 100 people across Canada to raise at least $500 in verified funds (aka. online donations, not cash pledges), you will be mailed your very own limited edition TGP hooded sweatshirt.
