Executive Director Announcement

Family Service Kent welcomes our new Executive Director, Daniel Farrow, to our organization. Dan is a resident of Chatham-Kent and very familiar with our community. He comes to Family Service Kent with an exceptional background in developmental services, and experience in working at a Senior Leadership level. With a degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies, as well as other academic credentials related to workplace mental health and human resource management to name a few, Dan will be an asset to our agency. We look forward to working alongside Dan as we continue to support, empower, and advocate with members of our community.

It is with immense gratitude that we thank our outgoing Executive Director, Brad Davis, for his years of service to Family Service Kent. Over the past twelve years, Brad has also been a key voice and contributing member to too many local and provincial boards, committees, tables, and partnerships to list. His passion and advocacy work around mental health strengthened our agency and community over these past few challenging years. The organization would not be what it is today without his authentic and compassionate leadership.

Brad’s legacy is the collective impact of all the small moments and unglamorous, everyday efforts. He showed us that what really matters for change are the small moments – the thoughtful and practical, daily efforts by people working far from the limelight. Brad made space for others around him to flourish in their own abilities. As quiet leaders often do, Brad worked humbly behind the scenes, on getting the small, unseen, and unglamourous things right. He emphasized that the most difficult, important human problems can’t be solved by swift commands from the top and acknowledged the complexities which dominate work-life today. He embodied Family Service Kent’s values and demonstrated doing the “right thing”, even when it wasn’t clear or easy. Brad’s legacy will continue to ripple outwards and guide our organization’s work to support, empower, and advocate with our community.

Please join us in sharing your best wishes with Dan and Brad!

Service Adjustment Updates (as of May 9, 2022)

Family Service Kent is moving forward with caution and optimism, following the guidance of our funders, sector partners, and health authorities. Our hybrid service delivery model remains to meet the needs of our community and the agency’s hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday from 9am to 5pm; and Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 9pm.

Family Service Kent continues to work diligently to minimize disruptions to our services. We recognize that some delays may be unavoidable due to the pandemic; however, we remain committed to our community and will keep you informed of any impacts. Anyone with changes to their appointments or services will be notified as soon as possible.

Masks are mandatory in the agency. Passengers and drivers must continue to wear a face mask while inside the vehicles. Plexiglass shields remain at the reception desk and visitors are asked to self-screen prior to entering the agency. Hand sanitizer is accessible throughout the building and in all of our agency vehicles.

If you have any questions about our operations, please contact us at 519-354-6221 or email info@familyservicekent.com.

Family Service Kent thanks you for your understanding, patience, and cooperation.

We encourage you to remain kind and helpful to others during these challenging times.

Thank you,

FSK Management and Board of Directors
